The goal of Module A is to introduce students to the fundamental steps of making a garment and at the same time review the different elements of garment making :The material , the pattern and the sewing techniques involved in the making of a piece.
Students will perform each standard operations for garment in woven fabrics and learn how to decode the basic technical information included in a commercial pattern.

Module B will review all the basic knowledge you will need to sew a classic staple : the Buttoned shirt using woven fabrics. We will focus on sewing adequately the main elements of Shirts: collar withstand, set-in sleeves with plackets , cuffs and more , while applying the best tips to make a beautifully crafted garment.

Module C will review everything about creating Pants. You will sew a pair of pants, with a focus on fit and professional looking construction. Students will pick their own, non stretch, zip fly pant pattern. We’ve curated a series of beautiful sewing patterns of pants so you can make your perfect style of pants. Delve into sewing with drapey, silky fabrics with Module D and learn the secret rope to handle silky and drapey fabrics. We’ve curated a selection of projects that will allow you to explore all the techniques to sew drapey materials: a bias cut midi skirt or a dress with bias straps or silk pajama pants.
Here are the topics we will cover during the class: how to accurately cut drapey fabrics on the bias, how to make finishings using professional techniques like French seams and rolled hems. We will explain step by step how to make a bias binding , hand-sew closures like hook and eye and finally sew buttonholes

Creating your own clothes will greatly improve when learning the fundamentals of pattern drafting and fitting . This module will give you the ability to understand 2d pattern drafting and how it translates in a 3D volume. The pattern defines the volume of your garment and by experimenting modifying a pattern will greatly improve the final result and enhance your creativity. You will draft a Top pattern block ( also called a sloper) that fits your measurement perfectly. You will then gain the skills to understand how to transform your block, following professional standards instructions, in order to design any style of top! You will leave the course with a well-made top block and the ability to draft your own choice of top pattern variations at home.

This is a creative module combining graphic research, textile experiments and fashion design. Our fashion design instructor will lead a creative session to deepen your creative process . You will create a visual inspiration board, research textures and colors as well as analyze volumes and shapes in the context of fashion. We will practice sketching, coloring and drawing silhouettes and we will show you how to represent your designs in a technical drawing, You will get course documents and material to practice further at home

DRAPING
The class will be devoted to the art and techniques of draping on the stand. You will be introduced to the fundamentals of draping and then create your unique design in three-dimensional form. Draping is an intuitive and artistic form of pattern making. This course is suited to those interested in working in 3-D and directly on the stand. Through the course you will learn draping and pattern cutting skills, with the emphasis on draping on the stand in different ways. The course will allow you to understand and experiment with the concept of intuitive draping and creative draping.
